Lessons learnt from children

One thing that I love about being a mom is how my daughter is always teaching me life lessons without her knowing. As a vivacious child, Sophie is always reminding me to live for today and to find joy in the simple things around me.

The other day, I asked her what she wanted to be when she grows up. I was half expecting her to say, a farmer, which she did the last time and we ended up making farm animal puppets.

But instead she gave me the most unexpected reply and had me grinning from ear to ear.

When I grow up, I want to be FUN!

Those were her words as she flashed me a cheeky look. Gosh how we need to remember that as adults too. So thank you my darling for reminding me.

Dear Sophie,

You never fail to surprise me with your optimism. You go girl and keep having fun while growing up and don’t let anyone or anything steal that fun-loving spirit in you! And thank you for teaching me about how to keep having fun too.

Love your fun-loving mummy 🙂

Isn’t it lovely how they constantly surprise us with their answers and their perception of life? I love it when my kids are in a chatty mood.

Makes me smile because I feel that as a *boring* adult, I overthink things. Children are so amazingly innocent. They truly are precious gifts. 🙂 Thanks for the reminder Sophie!

Thankfully we have our kids to remind us that we can still have fun regardless of how old we are. I love their innocence too 🙂

Thanks for leaving a comment everyone. I’ll be sure to tell Sophie how you’re all inspired to be more fun after her 101 lesson on Things to Remember When I’m an Adult. Hey that already sounds like a series that she can start 🙂

Thanks. I created it with the Martha Stewart Craft Studio app on my iPad. There are templates and stickers that you can use to create your collage 🙂

I love her answer! It’s not about being “something”, it’s about being “someone” when we grow up!
