Last year, I got started on an exercise regimen called Insanity. And boy is it some workout.
The Insanity is a 60 days body conditioning program where it promises to be one of the hardest workout you’ve ever done and I can swear that it’s true. To get the most out of it, the plan is to go through it for 60 days with one day or rest per week coupled with a healthy diet. And what makes it work is that it uses maximum interval training where you perform long bursts of maximum-intensity exercises with short periods of rest, pushing your body to its limit. To see some of the fantastic results, just do a search on youtube and you’ll be blown away.
While I didn’t get the beach body it promises because I wasn’t on it faithfully for 60 days, I definitely saw an improvement in my fitness and endurance level. Then good thing is, it’s a DAD workout so it’s totally doable regardless of the weather. So with my new year resolution to get fitter, I decided to challenge myself and took the Insanity fit test.
The Insanity fit test is a series of exercises that tests your fitness level and gets you acquainted with some of the moves before you get started on the Insanity program.
Here’s what I fared for Day One.
- Switch Kicks – 48
- Power Jacks – 41
- Power Knees – 80
- Power Jumps – 37
- Globe Jumps – 8
- Suicide Jumps -12
- Push-up Jacks – 26
- Low Plank Oblique – 30
Here’s where you can print out the fit test and see how you fare.
PS: I cheated this week because after the fit test, my arms and legs were aching!!!! My goal is to do this workout at least twice a week couple with a run.
What your choice of workout?

Good for you for trying this program. It does sound insane, with only one rest day a week? Nevertheless, I have a blog friend whom the program worked for and a coworker who is starting it this year. Good luck to you! I’d be like you and start off less days a week. Right now, I’m trying to run regularly. Am posting about it tomorrow and will link up too!
My husband does these workouts, and I tried one of them a couple weeks ago for the first time… WOW! I was really sore for the next few days and went back to my usual running/kettlebell routine. I really need to try to do it again. It’s amazing what a great workout it is considering it doesn’t require any equipment!
Haha, I did it yesterday and I’m aching!!! Not sure when day two will take place at this rate.
Looks difficult man! Me I like to swim. And run on my treadmill. Nowadays I’m trying some tummy exercise but not sure how long I can keep it up!
