I’m so thankful that Alexis is finally back from his business trip. Even though he was only gone for 5 days, it felt like a long time for him to be away.
While I’m perfectly capable of managing the home while he was away, my mom wanted to give me some relief and offered to stay at my place. I’m thankful and grateful for that but without Alexis, things are just different. You see, in our home, we divide and conquer the chores. Alexis always rolls up his sleeves to help round the home from preparing Sophie for school to packing her school bag in the mornings simply because he doesn’t need to powder his nose or face. On some nights, he knows that I need my me-time to blog and would offer to put Sophie to sleep. And of course, we know what’s needed for the house and do our parts.
But more than the chores, we are also each other’s best confidant, where we can pour out our feelings after a hard day’s work and seek solace in a good hug.
After all being married for close to 7 years, it does make me feel like indeed two are better than one simple because we know that we have each other’s back.
Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work.– Ecclesiastes 4:9

It’s great that the hubs and you share out the household chores.. It’s always great to have someone to be your support 🙂
Yes I am can’t agree more especially when hubby is supportive around the home.
K has travelled abroad several times over the last few years, each time for one week to up to two months (the longest yet). I am blessed to have help in the form of our helper Emily, so my routine isn’t all that disrupted. I make it a point to be home early with the kids, but also take time out to do my own stuff like go out with my friends while K’s gone. I think it’s all matter of striking a balance! Also, we chat all the time when we’re both awake, so he’s only gone physically but is still very much with us in spirit. 🙂
That’s nice. You guys must have a very strong relationship as well 🙂 I also brought Sophie out over the weekends but it was so tiring since hubby is not around to carry her.
Amen to that! Haha… I am looking forward to my hubs coming back toooo~! (In fact I am halfway through my blog post on it)
My husband only had to travel twice since Aly was born. Once during my confinement month (horrors) and the second sometime late last year. For the latter, I moved back to my Mom’s place to also spend some time with my family. They were most happy to have me home and I was also happy to have help. I agree though, that two are definitely better than one!
It really sucks sometimes. As my kids are at my mum’s place during the weekdays, I’ll now stay over whenever my husband is away for business trips. This way, I’ll get to spend more time with the kids and also not get too lonely! I’m also thinking of blogging about this too! Heh!
