Last evening, we went down to Clarke Quay to soak in the festivities of the Mid-Autumn Festival by the Singapore River.
Even though it was only a Thursday evening, the place was buzzing with activities.
The theme for this year is the 12 animals of the Chinese zodiac. This of course calls for photographs as we went scouting for our zodiac signs.
Can you spot yours?
Besides the array of lanterns that lined the river banks, there were also stalls selling lanterns, ornaments, snacks and yes I even spotted Taiwan bubble tea! I had to walk away quickly, in case I succumb to my weakness for bubble tea.
There were also a few floating lanterns in the river by the companies that sponsored the event.
This one’s from the Singapore Underwater World
The one was from Delphin. Yes the company that sells vacuum cleaners.
Me and Sophie both had a wide eyed look. Me looking gleeful, erm she a bit stunned!
It’s been a long time since Sophie is willing to pose for the camera. Last evening, someone was in such good spirits that she didn’t have to sleep early. Naturally, she was more than happy to pose for her trigger happy parents and gave us her kawaii pose.
And again…
Until she complained that the flashlight was too bright for her eyes. Sorry darling 😛
If you’re interested to check out the Mid-Autumn Festival by the River, do hurry down this weekend as it ends on 八月十五 which is 12 September 2011, next Monday.
