When it comes to bedtime, Sophie insists that only mama can put her to bed. On the rare occasions when she has a change of heart, I make a dash for the door to go for a run before the fussypot changes her mind.
Her usual bed time routine would be to have a hot shower followed by her bottle milk while I read her a book or sing her a lullaby. But what’s unusual is that when the lights are off, this little girl would lean over to me and scratch my arm to lull herself to sleep.
A colleague of mine insisted that because I like Hello Kitty so much, that’s why Sophie has such strange feline inclinations, taking her mom as her scratch pole. But honestly, until now, I’m baffled by her bedtime routine.
Anyway, after reading to her the other night, she muffled something like “cheese”, while she still had the milk bottle in her mouth.
Me:”You want cheese, Sophie”?
Sophie: “KISS”!
Me:”Oh….”
Some nights, she surprises me and would tell me, “How about a hug, mama?” Such a heart-warming, melting moment for any mums. But tonight, she tried to be funny.
Me:” Sophie, do you want a good night kiss”?
Sophie: “Yes, a kiss”.
After giving her a kiss, she asked for “so many, so many kiss”. So I showered her with more kisses and told her I’ll give her a big fat kiss before saying good night.
She turned to me and said, “I don’t want big fat kiss. I want big fat mama“.
My reaction was >. < then T.T and >:-(
Me (Obviously not amused): “Go to sleep!”
