Putting my best face forward with Style Essence

The  Singapore Mom Bloggers have turned one! And to celebrate this milestone, a series of activities was organised and the first to kick off was a styling session by the fabulous Florinda, another capable mummy in our community 🙂

It was a memorable and fun night out with this group of ladies, whom I’ve gotten to know through my blogging journey.

We discovered colour, styles and clothings that suited us.

I’m a warm skin tone and hence look better in earth tones, orange, yellow, green, brown and ivory.

Next was the more exciting part, where we had a hands on session and got to try the products from Mary Kay.

Tips that I picked up:

  • When removing make up and washing your face use only your third and fourth fingers. This is because these fingers exert the least pressure and hence minimise the formation of wrinkles when we cleanse our faces.
  • But when it comes to apply foundation, you do the opposite by applying foundation using downward strokes.

We were taught how to use different products from removal of make up and went on to try Mary Kay’s 3 in 1 cleanser which is a great product for busy mums who likes things fuss free.

We also tried a face mask on half our faces that we could see it’s effect and a lip spa product called satin lips which leaves you with baby smooth lips .

After the whole session, we had a roomful of gorgeous mummies who looked like they were ready to be whisked off for hot dates 🙂

I really enjoyed this hands on workshop and all the tips and tricks that Florinda taught especially the one on how to shade our eyelids to give the appearance of almond shaped eyes. As a mum, it’s sometimes easy to forget to take care of ourselves and that includes dolling ourselves up from time to time so that we can be more confident. I’m glad that this fun session was an opportunity to do so.

Special thanks to our SMB founder, Rachel and Style Consultant, Florinda for arranging this workshop again.
