Planning for a Mickey and Minnie birthday party

Sophie’s birthday is less than a month away and I’m just not in a very party planning mode yet.

The little birthday girl has already voiced her choice of party theme – Mickey and Minnie. I initially suggested having a Minnie Mouse theme party as I can so envision how I’m going to decorate the house with pink and white polka dots pretty much like this.

But the little boss burst my bubble when she refused flatly and told me, “No, Minnie. Is Minnie AND Mickey.”

But if there is one thing that the internet never lacks, it is IDEAS. Especially on sites like Etsy and Pinterest.

I’ve also found parents blogging about the Mickey and Minnie birthday parties that they organized for their kids, like Angeline and Summer as well as a couple more here and here.

Looks like I got to put on my party hat and turn these ideas into actions in the next few weeks.

The gorgeous cupcakes that Angeline got for her daughter

Any recommendations for cakes or cupcakes? We like Pine Gardens but would like to have a customized Mickey/ Minnie cake that is still relatively friendly to the wallet. All suggestions are welcome 🙂

I’ll be linking up on Alicia’s birthday blast linky party in August, so do stay tuned to see how Sophie’s Mickey/ Minnie birthday turns out.

Actually pine garden is affordable. I’ve checked out other bakeries and home bakers. They are all much more expensive.

I’m doing mickey for ovann too. He had asked for chuggington but very hard to find party stuff in this theme. So I decide for him 🙂 But it’s not gonna be an elaborate affair since he doesn’t have cousins his age, or friends so good dat he cld invite over party.

The very vain me immediately thought of pink base and white polka dotted pedi when you first shared that you were gonna do such theme. With MICKEY too? No sweat! Just add a black bow! :p

I do have recommendations for cupcakes. 🙂 Will PM you.

    Looking forward to seeing the final prep work and day! Have a blast Susan. Now, everyone sing with me – “M I C, K E Y, M O U S E!”

And we as parents just spoil them by indulging them too. I’ll have to admit it but I enjoy planning a theme party as well.
