I was pretty bummed that I didn’t get a handmade present from Sophie this year as we were on our Bintan holiday. Hey call me sentimental but a handmade present from my daughter sure beats a holiday… erm then again not if you fly me to Japan, Europe or the US.
So for this year, I’m super jealous that Alexis received 3 presents from Sophie.
Cookies and a cool rockin’ paper weight
As a count down to Father’s Day, here’s top 7 Parenting Style -the Daddy’s way
A Father whose not embarrassed to carry the baby
Most new babies are a perpetual accessory for a mom. But Alexis has had his fair share of having strangers (mostly the women) coming up to him, ohh ahhing over the little babe as he carried her in his arms, a sling, a pouch.
In fact back when Sophie was a colicky baby at about 1 month, Alexis was the one who carried her in a sling every evening to soothe those fussy nerves of her. Something which I was very grateful for because being on maternity leave with a colicky baby=crying baby is no joke.
A Father who engages in play
While I’ve been the more protective one when it comes to playing (“Sophie, run slower, not so high, be CAREFUL”) Alexis encourages her to climb around at the playground, tickles her till she rolls on the bed, makes less fuss when she spills the soap solution while playing bubbles. Perhaps, I should learn a thing or two from his carefree attitude when it comes to playing.
Daddy who seems to be having more fun than Sophie at the gym
A Father who has fun
Sometimes the fun is at the expense of Sophie when Daddy made her look like the DBS ang bao mascot (which actually was a big hit in my office).
Or tries to make her cling on to him for her dear life when she didn’t want to walk on the sandy beach
A Father who indulges… sometimes
Sophie is a real Daddy’s girl and while we are not extravagant parents who shower her with everything, there are just presents that Daddy can’t help but buy knowing it will put a smile on her face.
Tricycle for her first birthday
Mega huge Pooh bear that Sophie calls Poo Poo

It’s so true that daddys are more relaxed than mummies in their parenting. I think we balance each other up. 🙂
Ivy: not to mention more relaxed abt eating and cleanliness too. Haha
Wonderful (and involved and loving and indulgent) daddies are da best! 😉
