On 6 Oct 2011, the world mourned the passing away of a legend – Steve Jobs.
I wondered how he would have felt knowing that the world knew about his dismiss on the very devices that he created, the iPhone, iPad, Macs. I don’t know much about Steve Jobs, but with Facebook and Twitter, it was inevitable that people started posting messages in rememberance of what he has left behind.
I watched him give his Commencement Address to the Stanford graduates and I wished I was still 18 when I heard those words.
Here’s a few notable quotes by him from his speech.
In his speech, he talked about his close encounter with death after he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and how that changed his perspective on how he lived his life. Although we all know that death happens to us at some point or another, the knowledge that it could happen sooner than later certainly made me sit up to think about the way I have been living my life.
There are just so many things that I want to change in my life. But I have not done so because of fear. Fear of judgment, fear of failure and strangely even the fear of the unknown which sounds quite nonsensical even as I type this.
So while it may not be the month of January to set new year’s resolutions, there’s certainly no stopping October from being the new January for me to start making the changes Iwant in my life, starting with a change of attitude, because like what Winston Churchill said,” Attitude is a little thing that makes a big difference.”
What about you, what is one thing you would like to change in your life?
