Mother’s Day special with Emicakes

Mother’s Day falls on 13 May this year. Besides making plans to take your mom out for a nice meal and give her a well deserved break from all the cooking, why not sweeten her day with a Mother’s Day cake too? Emicakes has a selection of Mother’s Day cakes that are just fitting for this celebratory occasion.

Emicakes is famous for their Durian cakes but since I’m no durain lover, we had two chocolate cakes. The first was the Very Berry Chocolate, which is Emicake’s latest creation. As I’m watching my diet, I was worried that this cake may bust my diet plans.

After I sank my teeth into it, I was surprised that this moist chocolate chiffon cake turned out to be pretty diet friendly (if you eat it without the cream, of course). The cake was covered in chocolate ganache and had fresh strawberry bits between layers of chocolate. The perfect combination to please both the chocolate and strawberry lover in me.

The second cake is one of Emicake’s special creation for Mother’s Day. Since I’ll be out of town for Mother’s Day, I  took the opportunity to take my mom out for an advanced Mother’s Day celebration with my family.

 

The Pure Addiction is a three-layered chocolate chiffon cake filled with chocolate ganache. With each bite, you’ll find almonds nut sprinkled inside. The chiffon developed by Emicakes is one of a kind, as it’s recipe incorporates milk protein resulting in a light and fluffy texture. This also contributes to making their cakes a healthier choice with lesser cholesterol that is suitable for both young and old.

Even though the cake was filled with chocolate, everyone who had a slice agreed that it was just nice without leaving you feeling too heavy. I would have gone for a second slice but I have to remind myself to watch my calories intake and not let my exercise go to waste.
