It’s Easter this Sunday. A day where Christians remember that our Lord Jesus died on the cross for our sins, rose victoriously from the grave, overcame the chains of death so that we can have eternal life with Him.
Last week’s sermon was also a timely reminder for me reject self-centeredness as I deny myself, take up my cross daily to follow Christ.
Luke 9:23: Then He said to them all: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me.”

I look forward to Easter as it’s a season of new hope and spring time fun. I wonder how Easter got associated with Easter egg, egg hunts, bunnies and cupcakes. But in the spirit of Easter, I decided to get my crafty hands busy to create a couple of easter bunnies as well.
This is my version of Easter Bunnies made of toilet rolls, cupcake liners and felt. Definitely very earth- friendly.
Here’s a step by step illustration of how to create these loveliness 🙂 Get those scissors, marker and double sided tape ready too.
- A box that provided a backdrop for my bunnies. I laid the back of the box with green construction paper and added a felt tree and some shredded green grass as a nice touch.
- Next I traced the bunnies ears onto a piece of cardboard so that they will have enough “standing power”. To attach them to the cupcake liners, I slit a hole on the top of the liners and secured them with double sided tape.
- Then I cut out bunnies using felt which can be attached to the sides of the toilet roll with double sided tape.
- Finally it’s time to assemble the painted toilet roll, ears, cupcake liner and felt hands. The final touches is to draw the bunnies features and it’s all done!
These Easter bunnies turned out to be a hit with Sophie as soon as she got home from school. She pointed to them excitedly and told me “air bit, air bit”. (What she really meant was rabbit)
She was squealing with delight when she saw them and wanted to put on some bunny ears of her own. I’m glad these little bunny fellows made her day 🙂
