Blessed Easter Sunday

Last year, I made Easter bunnies for Easter from toilet rolls. This year, I decided to make something simple so that Sophie can get involved. And what better way than to create a mosaic Easter egg.

After drawing the design of the Easter egg, we got out different colored origami paper and started tearing them into small pieces. Sophie was acting like a teacher and was dishing out instructions when we got started.

“Mummy, you must paste inside the circle okay?”

“I glue for you, later your hands dirty.”

“Why you don’t use pink? It’s your favorite color, right?”

Sophie was busy pasting and tearing and pointing out the gaps in my egg. Where did she learn to be such a critic?

Later, she got Alexis involved in our little art and craft session and told him to color an Easter Egg. He got lazy and got her to color on his behalf. Judging from this picture, it looks like she’s getting a better control of her coloring. You can see that she made an effort to keep her coloring within the egg and this is a pretty good job for a 2 year old.

For Christians, Easter is a very significant day as we remember the Lord’s triumphant resurrection as He overcame death to bring us eternal life.

His shed blood means…
We can live each day in His forgiveness.
His resurrection means…
We can walk constantly in newness of life.
His presence means…
We can know His victory in each situation.
His love means…
We will never face anything alone!
His day of victory makes all our days complete!

Blessed Easter Sunday!

Thanks. Guess it’s because she really takes pride in her art. There are days that she can’t be bothered and just makes a mess too.
