2 months to 2

Sophie turns 2 in exactly 2 months time. And the big question on my mind is bash or not to bash. Erm I know sometimes evil thoughts float through my head to “bash” my whiny, tantrum throwing toddler who’s going through her terrible twos phase but what I had in mind was a birthday bash :p

So far Sophie has had two major parties, one being her traditional full moon party and the other when she turned one. I doubt she has any recollection of the food she had, how her cake looked like and even the gifts bearing uncles and aunties, jie jies and gors gors who came for her party which begs the question if I should throw her a party birthday party this year.

Sure I do get that kids parties are not just an occasion for the kids but also an opportunity to catch up with relatives and friends and to celebrate a happy occasion to mark another milestone for Sophie. But when she’s too young to remember or appreciate it as yet, I figure I might as well save the efforts for this year and plan her a bigger party when she turns 3!

So for this year, I’m considering having a simple celebration in school on the eve of her birthday since Sophie’s a National Baby. I’m pretty sure that for once she’ll enjoy being the centre of attention as her classmates gather round her cake with eager looking eyes and salivating looks. And instead of being the recipient of goody bags from her classmates, she’ll have the honor of dishing them out.

I think she’ll gonna love her cake topper that I picked up from Carrefour with Elmo announcing her age loud and clear!
