The Reason for the Season

It’s been close to a week since I got back from London and the jet lagged was quite a pain especially when I have an active toddler who has so much to catch up with me. A day after I got back, Sophie decided to wake up at 3am and told me she was not sleepy, like hello, who’s the one having jet lagged and mind you the next day was a Monday. Boy am I adding eye cream to my Christmas wishlist for these stubborn dark eye circles.

Work was full steam ahead after I got back to the office, which explains the long silence as well. And what do you know, we’re just 11 days away from Christmas.

Our Christmas tree was finally up a few days ago and Sophie had so fun as she went, “Wohoo” and “Tadah” with each ornament that she hung. How I missed my little miss sunshine when hubby and I were away and it was truly a joy to have this Christmas tradition together with her.

Here are some pictures of my gorgeous Christmas  tree with bokeh effect. (I’m still bummed that Android has so little apps with Bokeh effect)

Christmas is more than just a festive of merry making, feasting and getting together with family and friends, I am  reminded that the reason we celebrate the season is because of God’s greatest gift to us, His Son, Jesus Christ.

So one day, before bedtime, I asked Sophie what Christmas is about and she told me presents. I corrected her that while it is a time that she’ll receive presents, but it’s also because God has given us His Son as the best present of all and she replied, “Is it my Jesus?”.

I smiled at her response. Perhaps, my little one already knows that she has her personal Lord and Savior living in her. That is indeed the best gift we have received.

Thanks Summer. Yes we did despite a bad experience where we got pickpocketed in London. Thankfully not much money was lost and no credit cards were misused so we didn’t not to let that spoil the rest of our holidays. Have a great Christmas with your family too.
