Our first family photoshoot with Natsuki Photography

One of the things that I have been wanting to do for the longest time is to have a family photography session. If you read my blog or see my photos posted on Facebook, you’ll notice that I’m hardly in any of them as I’m the one behind the camera. When I get the Alexis to take the photos, he feels that I am too fussy about how the pictures turn out which IS the whole point of photographs right? The opportunity presented itself unexpectedly when I was approached to do a review for a budding photographer from Natsuki Photography.

We quickly settled on doing an outdoor shoot and at Natsuki’s recommendation went to Bukit Timah Core in Botanic Gardens. Compared to the bandstand area where it’s always popular, this spot proved to be a perfect spot as it has lots of greenery with a lot lesser people even though it’s near to the MRT.

Before the shoot, I took pains to put together our outfits. But knowing me, pink is always my default go-to colour because it makes everyone “pop”. I hardly think it was an overkill and in fact, I thought I did a pretty good job at coordinating our outfits as you will soon see.

I absolutely love this shot of Sophie and Alexis. She’s a daddy’s girl no doubt

One of my favorite photo of the three of us

Natuski very thoughtfully came prepared with different props that we can use and this was just perfect.

A rare opportunity to have a couple photo for just me and Alexis

We had lots of fun showering Sophie with tickles and kisses

What I enjoyed most about my photography session was that there were no rules. Natuski is a very open photographer and welcomed the feedback that I gave her. We went to this photoshoot with not much expectations and it turned out to be very relaxing and everyone was at ease which naturally made the photos turn out looking great.

As parents, we always hope that the kids will be co-operative so that we get smiley faces rather than a sulky faces. In this case, Natsuki’s bag of tricks from bubbles to windmil to soft toys and even props helped Sophie to open up in no time.

Natsuki’s photos have a signature soft, dreamy feel to them. So if that’s what you’re looking for, why not book an appointment with her. And here’s a special deal for A Juggling Mom readers.

Love the one of her running after bubbles and the one of the two of you looking at her. How nice to have family photos taken! Such precious memories and Sophie’s smile is lovely.
