NoQ Online BookStore {Review and Voucher Giveaway}

As a mum with 4 year-old who’s beginning to read, I’m even more excited than ever to scout for good deals on books.

I was recently introduced to NoQ Online Bookstore where they have the lowest price guarantee in Singapore.

When I shared the website with Alexis, he went, “Did you know that NoQ stands for No Queue?” I like this site already 🙂

What I liked about NoQ

Navigating around the site is pretty straightforward and easy as you can shop by the different categories that are very neatly displayed on their side bar. And if you already have a book in mind, you can type that in the search function and get your hands on the books you’re looking for.

What I found most impressive was the number of titles it carries. In fact, make that over  14 million titles and counting. So I was really glad to be able to find this book that I’ve been searching for, Prudent Advice,  at a price even lower than Book Depository!

A Juggling Mom Recommended Reads (To be a better parent)

If you’re a parent, you’ll enjoy Prudent Advice as it’s a collection of advice given from a mother to her daughter. This really inspired me to pen down my little nuggets of advice for Sophie  which can be as practical as , don’t start a quarrel or fight when you have an empty stomach, use the first toilet stall because it’s the cleanest to words of wisdom like avoid empty threats. Which is why I always carry out my punishments if I have to reach three.

Another book that many friends were keen about when I posted about it on my Facebook is this 5 Love Language of Children by Gary Chapman. In essence, the five languages are the same as the adult version but it’s application are so different because it’s targeted at children. I’m not even halfway through the book but I’m already taking notes and highlighting the pages as I go along.

Books for Sophie

I resisted the urge to buy her books to learn reading and instead chose this book titled, “If I could keep you little”. Sophie enjoys this so much and makes me reminisce the time when she was a baby. While this is no tear jerker, it certainly made me drop a tear or two as we read the book together.

What could have been improved

Overall I had a pleasant time shopping on NoQ. But something that they can improve is to provide book preview so that I can see how the pages look inside without having to toggle between other online sites.

Also they have  done away with free delivery and implemented a minimum order of $25 to enjoy free delivery this year.

And one thing that I hoped can be improved is the delivery timing. On their website, it stated that delivery takes between 7 – 14 working days. And in my experience, it took almost 3 weeks. From what was explained, this delivery time-frame is imposed as books are sourced from their overseas suppliers when orders are placed by customers to ensure that they always give customers the most value for money with their lowest prices.  Which I feel is something that can be accepted. So if you’re planning to buy books as a gift from NoQ, place your orders in advance!
