Motivational Monday {Linky Party} – Cook for Family Initiative

If you’re always wondering what to cook for dinner, then why not try this simple and fuss-free wrap idea with minimum cooking involved?

As a full-time working mum, I’m always striving to cook meals that take no more than half an hour to prepare. And spending less time in the kitchen preparing for dinner is by no means an indication that my dinner will be sub-standard.

Here’s one of my favorite recipe that can be prepared by anyone, including noobs in the kitchen 🙂

Cajun Prawn Wraps

Ingredients

  • Wraps (I used Gardenia’s Wholemeal wraps)
  • Celery (diced)
  • Cherry tomatoes (diced)
  • Mushroom (sliced)
  • Red peppers (diced)
  • Onions (chopped)
  • Prawns (deshelled)
  • Romaine Lettuce
  • Sour cream

Preparation method

  1. Marinate the deshelled prawns in cajun power
  2. Stir fry the onions, celery and mushroom over medium fire
  3. When step 2 is 50% cooked, stir in tomatoes and prawns and continue frying
  4. After cooked, remove from heat
  5. Next lay out a piece of wrap and line it with lettuce and sour cream
  6. Scoop cooked ingredients onto the lettuce and roll the wrap like a popiah

This is a light and healthy meal that guaranteed to be a hit with the whole family 🙂

Today’s Motivational Monday post is in support of Daniel’s #CookForFamily initiative, a bloggers-for-bloggers initiative where the objective is simply to get more bloggers to start cooking and bonding with their families. I’m behind this 100% and hope to cook more often for the family too 🙂

Do try it someday. And the best part is, you can easily replace the items with kiddy-friendly ingredient like eggs, carrots, crab stick, etc for a child-friendly meal that even the kids can get prepare.
