It’s the start of the year and like many, my new year resolution for 2013 is to be healthier, fitter and slimmer. Yes I am still hoping to lose the pounds that I put on from all at Christmas feasting… Okay maybe from all that sedentary lifestyle in December when it rained and rained which means that I had no chance to exercise. Wait a minute, I’m supposed to quit all the excuses… So yes, to a healthier and fitter me in 2013.
As a full time working, it can be challenging to find time to exercise. I’ve been trying to wake up early on weekends to go for a jog. But as I would have it, Sophie will somehow sense that mummy is going out for some me time and would wake up bright and early and insists I bring her along.
I figured it may be a good thing for mummy here to set a good example for Sophie for a healthier lifestyle, so I’ll oblige and bring her along when I exercise. Though it may not be the most ideal thing to do, since I don’t get to go for my jog. But as a parent, you learn to get creative. Since we just end up at the exercise corner or playground, I’ll just jog around it for like 20 rounds and do my exercises, which can be shuttle run, star jumps, lunges, sit ups, burpees, etc.
Sophie also attempted a burpee but once her palms touched the ground, she was like, “Eeee, my hands are dirty.” and proceeds to dust her hands and runs off to the slide instead.
So I may not hit my exercise quota with this little girl around but one’s gotta look on the bright side, like capturing this cute shots of her attempting to practice her skiing.
How do you make time for exercise?
