Motivational Mondays – Making time for exercise

Who has time for exercise?

As a working mum I can definitely relate to that. After work, I come home to play my role as a wife, mother, chef, house keeper, entertainment officer, story teller . There’s always a thousand reason or excuses why we don’t have time to exercise.

But can we really afford not to especially when we know that health is wealth? Only when we are healthy are we able to better take care of our families.

Last week was the start of a new month and April is also the month where I turn another year older. So I’m not allowing any excuses to get in my way because only I can make the choices to be healthy. So after dinner, I told Sophie of my plans to head out for a run and what she said had me in stitches for almost a minute.

She looked at me and said, “But mama, you lost weight!”

Me: But what about my tummy that you said is fat, fat?

Sophie: No, it’s flatter already.

Nice try young lady. I know it was just her trying to convince me that I don’t need to exercise so that I can tuck in in bed. She still prefer me to sleep with her because she say only I have mummy smell and hubby thinks she’s addicted to me 😛

I did read her one story book and proceeded to stick to my plans and headed out before she could protest. 3km and 21 mins later, here’s my, “I nailed it look”.

YEAH go me!#fitmama

Haha, have to run fast at that hour else I become an easy prey. That’s good enough motivation.
