The Little Flower Shop Cafe & Bar at Lau Pa Sat

Lau Pa Sat, is one of Singapore’s most iconic food centers. Located in the heart of the CBD, it offers a wide variety of local delights as well as international food choices. I cheered when it finally reopened in June this year as there is finally a convenient place to settle my dinner on days that I’m too lazy to cook after work.

I recently discovered an interesting shop in Lau Pa Sat and I can’t wait to share it with you.

The Little Flower Shop is a florist cum cafe and bar that just opposite of Wendy’s. You wouldn’t be able to miss this pretty shop front that stands out from the rest of its neighbours.

Once you step inside, you’ll forget that you’re even in Lau Pa Sat as the scent of aromatherapy permeates the shop and puts you right at ease. As a visual person, my eyes are immediately drawn to the many floral details that the owners have put in it’s deco and interior.

There is something that catches my attention everywhere I turn. From pretty vases, to greeting cards, plush toys and of course flowers and plants.

As I stumbled upon this place after lunch with my colleagues, we opted for their macron set which came with three macarons and a cup of tea.

I’m usually not a tea person but they have a nice selection of teas. The floral infused macarons that I’ll recommend are the lavender and sakaru flavoured ones which are not too sweet on the taste buds with a hint of floral sweetness. But each macaron can be pretty pricey at $3.80 per piece.

Another note worthy item to try on their menu is their tau huay. I know a pretty odd combination coming from this cafe but theirs is pretty unique as it is also tea flavoured, while also serving flavours like chocolate and gula melaka ta huay, a bane for the traditionalist at heart.

But at a very value-for-money price of $1.50, their tau huay has soon become one of our favourite dessert after lunch.

They also serve canapes and sandwiches at lunch time. But accordingly to my colleagues who has them, they were too petite sized.

So my suggestion is to have a quick bite and head over to My Little Flower shop to grab a good seat as they have very limited seats. Unless you’re planning on dining alfresco, which may not be a good idea with our crazy hot weather and haze.
